As well as his photography which predominantly stands alone – Haines has developed a writing element within his practice which compliments his photographic stills; providing them with a deeper sensory experience. These short narratives encapsulate interactions and observations which cannot be captured through the lens of a camera; when juxtaposed with his photography, it allows for a broader narrative to be drawn.
Narrative being such a key element to Haines’ work – it seems only natural that he is looking to incorporate film-making into his practice. About to become the Director of Photography on the short film ‘Nocturne’ produced by After Party Studios; Haines has multiple projects lined up that look to incorporate a more immersive approach to storytelling. With such a growing practice make sure you keep an eye out for this emerging creative – it’ll be a story worth following.
